An engineer who became an AI/data product manager — and stayed close to the math.
My master's thesis applied neural networks to multi-variable statistical quality control more than two decades before the current AI wave. The intervening years were spent learning that great data and AI products are mostly about the boring parts: governance, data quality, evaluation, and the operating model that holds them up — lessons sharpened in one of the most regulated industries there is.

Off-Clock — FIRST Robotics Mentorship
For years I've mentored high-school students in the FIRST Robotics Competition — the global STEM program founded by Dean Kamen where 3,400+ teams design, build and compete with 125-lb industrial robots on a six-week build clock. It's the closest thing to an enterprise product launch a teenager can experience: real engineering, real deadlines, real sponsors, real failure modes. The work that pays the bills changes; the love of helping a kid see their first subsystem actually move does not.
Multi-year lead mentor for the Klein ISD district-wide team drawing students from all five Klein high schools. Coached design, build, scouting and outreach across 16 seasons of competition in the FIRST In Texas district.
Helped stand up Vector as a brand-new rookie team at Tomball Memorial High School — sponsors, build space, safety program, first competition strategy. Six seasons later: 3 event wins and 21 awards.
